TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1. Arrival to Irkutsk

Arrival to Irkutsk by morning flight from Moscow, meeting at the airport.

Breakfast.

Transfer to a cozy pine chalet (hotel type), located in Novosneznaya settlement at the confluence of Sneznaya river in Lake Baikal. It is a small family hotel with a breathtaking view of the snow-topped peaks of Khamar-Daban mountain range.

Upon arrival enjoy welcome drink and lunch.

Check-in.

Visiting Siberian banya (steam bath) or Japanese Ofuro bath. Our special birch and fir brooms shall be prepared for you.

Dinner of local cuisine and rest in peaceful place with unique nature.

Day 2. Trip around Lake Baikal by snowmobiles

Breakfast.

We continue our adventure trip around Lake Baikal: riding by snowmobiles (BRP Lynx adventure / 2 pax on a snowmobile) to the Mamay Mountain – a local Baikal point of attraction for mountain skiers and snowboarders. This safari – unforgettable journey to admire beautiful landscapes of winter Lake Baikal and stunning views of Khamar-Daban Mountain range.

This area gets a lot of precipitations throughout the year, that's why snow gets 2.5–5 meters deep here. We will travel with stops en route to enjoy the pure mountain air, superb views and walk in the fairytale winter forest.

Lunch in Mamay chalet.

Return to the hotel in the evening.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 3. Day of rest. Optional excursions

Breakfast.

Today you will have a free day for the rest, just relax and enjoy your time!

It is a good day to visit the husky sledding center and try driving a dog sled into the taiga-woods backcountry. Following a brief lesson at the kennel, you’ll soon be mushing with your own sled, pulled by a team of energetic huskies, through the woods and over the snowy plains (extra pay).

Or spend your time at the alpine skiing center of Sable Mountain resort with panoramic view to Lake Baikal (extra pay).

Lunch on your own.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4. Olkhon Island, Peschanaya Bay

Breakfast.

Check-out.

Riding by hovercraft (hivus) along the ice of Baikal to Olkhon, the largest island of the lake, its geographical and sacral center veiled by the ancient myths and legends.

Stop en route to visit the Peschanaya Bay – one of the most wonderful places of Baikal: walking on the shore to see the walking trees, enjoy the views of the wild Babushka Bay.

Lunch (lunch-boxes and hot drinks).

We will cross the Olkhon Gates by ice, straight separating the island from the mainland.

Upon arrival to Khuzir village – check-in at the hotel.

Dinner with dishes of Baikal cuisine.

Day 5. Maloe More and Ogoy Island. Arrival at Irkutsk

Breakfast.

Departure from the island towards Maloe More (Small Sea in English) by all-terrain vehicle (trucks «Sever»). Maloe More is a part of Baikal between the mainland and Olkhon Island and especilly famous in March for its spectacular smooth surface of the transparent ice that is quickly freed of the snow by winds.

We will travel along the islands of Maloe More – Ogoy, Izhilhey, Oltrac, Khibin with stops: to peer into the impressive deep blue depths under your feet and at the quaint patterns of crack lines and ribbons and to explore the bizarre ice formations – shields, piles and icicles covering the rocks at the shore.

Walking to the top of Ogoy Island to admire the Buddhist stupa and splendid views.

Enjoy skating on the natural ice rink.

We will finish our ice safari on the Small Sea, have lunch of traditional Buryat cuisine (boozy, buhler).

Transfer to Irkutsk by minibus.

Dinner (on your own).

Overnight at the hotel in Irkutsk.

Day 6. The end of the tour

How to get there

The tour starts in Irkutsk, it's 5–6,5 hours by flight from Moscow.
Aeroflot, S7, Ural Airlines and others operate daily direct flights from Moscow to Irkutsk. 
Also it's possible to get Irkutsk by train (3 days).

During the tour you'll be provided by meals with dishes of Baikal cuisine according to the program:
