The unbelievable voyage aboard the unique ship is worthy of those who seek to conquer and win!
The journey begins and ends in Murmansk. From here, on board the world's most powerful nuclear icebreaker «50 Years of Victory», we go to the point of the geographical North Pole. Having reached the point of 90° north latitude, you will be standing on the «top of the planet», where the whole world will be at your feet, literally.

The route of this unique cruise also passes through the legendary archipelago of Franz Josef Land. Experience the feelings of the heroes of «Two Captains». The most heroic and tragic expeditions stopped on these islands: Nansen, Sedov, Brusilov, Papanin.

The icebreaker «50 Years of Victory» is the largest and most powerful icebreaker in the world: 2 nuclear reactors, 75 000 horsepower, it is able to overcome ice up to 3 meters thick.

Photography

In the cruise an experienced photographer takes part. He is always ready to share his knowledges: both on board the ship during photo presentations and lectures, and in the process of photographing during landings.

If you are just get acquainted with the world of photography, don't get upset. Our photography tours are opened for advanced photographers as well as for beginners. You'll learn the key basics of photography in a unique environment, with the opportunity to get answers to your questions from the best photographers.

Helicopter flights

We make sure that our travelers are not limited in the role of Arctic contemplators. During expedition cruises to the North Pole, we land on the most inaccessible shores of the High Arctic, even to places where access to our expedition zodiac boats is closed. In such cases we use a helicopter.
In addition to landings, we offer our travelers helicopter flights over the icebreaker and the fantastic landscapes of the Arctic. Just imagine what pictures you can take during such flights!

Day 7. The North Pole

On the approach to the Pole, the captain begins slow maneuvers to «put» the ship at 90°N – to reach the geographic North Pole. Yay, we are at the «top of the world»!

The North Pole is the point of intersection of the Earth's axis of rotation with its surface in the Northern Hemisphere. All meridians meet here: everywhere you look – everywhere is the South. Any other point on the surface of the Earth in relation to the North Pole is in the south direction.

We can make the shortest circumnavigation of the globe: it is enough to go around 90°N.

Let's make the most northern on the planet photo-session on the ice-breaker background. Let's swim in the Arctic Ocean. There will be polar barbecue and the world's northernmost bathhouse.

Day 8–10. Franz Josef Land

These days we will explore one of the most inaccessible regions of the Arctic – the Franz Josef Land archipelago.

Beyond the Arctic Circle lie the largest northern islands of Eurasia – Franz Josef Land. They are habitats for polar bears and walruses. The territory of Franz Josef Land is part of the Russian Arctic National Park. On the expanses of the islands the polar bears are full owners. We can meet these «masters of the Arctic» at any time in any place of the archipelago. The 24-hour polar day allows us to take every opportunity to observe the unique fauna.

Franz Josef Land is a huge archipelago of 192 islands, located only 10 degrees from the North Pole, with many interesting places to explore. The opportunity to discover the most fascinating pages of the archipelago's history is very attractive.

You will be able to experience the same feelings as the heroes of the legendary story of V. Kaverin «The Two Captains». During expedition to Franz Josef Land, in the attempt to reach the North Pole, Georgy Sedov, the famous polar explorer, died; his grave can be seen on Rudolf Island. Here, at Cape Flora on Northbrook Island, members of A.A. Brusilov's expedition, navigator Albanov and sailor Conrad, survived. The famous Norwegian explorers Nansen and Johansen spent 7 months on Cape Norway of Jackson Island after their unsuccessful attempt to conquer the North Pole. And these are just a few pages from the history book of Franz Josef Land.

One of the most unusual places on Franz Josef Land is Chump Island, located in the heart of the archipelago. Famous for its almost perfectly round stones, in the center of which the remains of mollusk shells are sometimes found. Geologists are still debating about the nature of the formation of this phenomenon.

We plan to visit Tikhaya Bay, known for the well-preserved structures of the first Soviet polar station. The base of the Russian Arctic National Park is also located here. And you will also have the opportunity to send a postcard to your friends from the world's northernmost post office.

Our journey is over.
