Expedition tour «Yakutsk – Oymyakon – Magadan»
We invite you to take part in the unique tour on the Yakutsk – Magadan route. The Kolyma trakt, also known as the «road of death», is a federal highway whose history attracts travelers.
You will travel through Yakut settlements, plunge into ethnography, get acquainted with the life and traditions of the locals. You will visit the place where the most negative temperature was recorded -71.2 C, visit the famous Lena Pillars and of course learn the history of the «road on bones» built by Gulag prisoners during the Stalin era.

Day 1. Arrival in Yakutsk. Sightseeing tour
Arrival to Yakutsk, transfer to the hotel Alaas 3*.
Accommodation (twin rooms), breakfast, rest.
10:00 Sightseeing tour around Yakutsk city.
12:00 Transfer to the ethnographic complex Chochur-Muran, lunch in the restaurant of the complex (independent).
14:00 Visit of the ethnographic complex Us-Kut, purification ritual Algys.
15:00 Excursion in the ice gallery Permafrost Kingdom.
16:00 Visit to the Museum of Local Lore named after Yaroslavsky.
Dinner in the restaurant of national cuisine, walk to the hotel (1 km), rest.

Day 2. Lena Pillars
Breakfast at the hotel.
08:00 Departure to Lena Pillars Nature Park (200 km, 3,5 hours).
Ascent to the pillars, lunch in the house at the foot of the pillars.

Day 3. Khandyga
Breakfast at the hotel.
09:00 Check-out from the hotel. Visiting local market, shops.
Departure from Yakutsk to Khandyga settlement (420 km). Travel time is approximately 8–10 hours.
At the beginning of the way (Tattinsky ulus) it is possible to stop at the museum complex in Cherkeh village (approximately at 12:00–14:00).
Lunch on the way in a roadside cafe (on your own).
Arrival in Khandyga in the evening. Accommodation in a hotel (2/3-beds, facilities on the floor).

Day 4. Oymyakon, Kolyma trakt
Breakfast and lunch in a cafe (on your own).
Departure to Oymyakon (520 km). Travel time is approximately 12–14 hours.
The route lies through the Verkhoyansk mountain ranges, along the Kolymsky Trakt – Road on Bones, a unique road built by Gulag prisoners during the Stalin era.
Arrival in Oymyakon late in the evening. Accommodation in a guesthouse (2/3-beds, toilet outside, there is a bathhouse (banya), no shower).

Day 5. Oymyakon, Pole of Cold. Ice fishing
Breakfast.
Visiting the horse farm, where you will see the unique Yakut horse, who spends the whole winter outdoors in the pasture and get food under the snow.
Here you'll know many interesting facts about the life of horse breeders.
Visit to the Pole of Cold monument where the most negative temperature was registered: -71.2 C.
Lunch in the guest house.
Ice fishing in the Indigirka River (15–20 km). Possibility to take part and obtain skills of ice fishing, fish cutting.
Entertainment program performed by children's ethnographic dance ensemble.
Presentation of the certificate Pole of Cold from the Lord of Cold – Chishaan.

Day 7. Susuman. Gulag Museum
Excursion to the Gulag Museum.
Departure from Ust-Nera settlement to Susuman (390 km).
On the way visit to the dead town of Kadykchan.
Susuman is a town in Russia, the administrative center of Susuman district, Magadan region. The population is 5,865 people (2010). The city is located on the bank of the Bereleukh River (Kolyma basin). The name Susuman comes from Evenk «kukhuman» – «storm», «pozemka».
