You're expected to have an unforgettable journey to the ice base Barneo by AN-74 airplane and from there to the North Pole on board of MI-8 helicopter.
Ice aviation airplanes depart to Barneo from Khatanga with technical landing at Baranova Cape (Severnaya Zemlya Archipelago).
You will reach the North Pole and join the select number of people who have spent the night on the drifting Arctic ice!

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 0. Day before the tour in Krasnoyarsk
A day before program starts: arrival in Krasnoyarsk (Russia).
Upon arrival into Krasnoyarsk, we will transfer you to your hotel (*transfer for extra charge).
Accommodation at the hotel (*extra charge).
Free time in Krasnoyarsk.
Meals on your own.
*You must arrive in Krasnoyarsk (Russia) at least one day before your flight to Khatanga and plan your flight home the day after your return from Khatanga.
Our staff will brief you on the current situation at the ice base Barneo, inform you about departure time to Khatanga, and answer any questions you might have.

Day 1. Flight to Khatanga. Acquaintance with lifestyle of indigenous peoples
Transfer from your hotel to the airport.
Flight from Krasnoyarsk to Khatanga by AN-74 aircraft (approx. flight duration: 3 hrs 30 min).
Accommodation and meal in Khatanga (Hotel Mamont Inn).
At the hotel you will receive the message, when and where our Information meeting will take place. Our staff will brief you on the current situation at the ice base Barneo, inform you about polar flight departure time, and answer any questions you might have.
Excursion to the Museum of Nature and Ethnography at the Taimyr Reserve.
Visit to the Folk Art Center, acquaintance with everyday life and crafts of indigenous peoples.
Excursion to the Mammoth Ice Museum.

Day 2. Ice base Barneo. Helicopter flight to the North Pole
Flight from Khatanga to Barneo by AN-74 aircraft (approx. flight duration: 5 hrs).
One stop for refueling at Cape Baranova, Severnaya Zemlya archipelago.
Arrival at Barneo, acquaintance with ice base Barneo, located at 89 degree North.
Accommodation will be provided in the heated tents of the Ice Camp (each tent comfortably accommodates 10–12 persons).
MI-8 helicopter takes you to the geographic North Pole at first chance, depending on weather and ice conditions (approx. flight duration: 40 min).
Celebration of the arrival at the North Pole right on spot! You will have about 1 hour at the North Pole.
Return to the ice base Barneo by MI-8 helicopter, approx. flight duration: 40 min.
Full catering during your stay at ice base Barneo.

For every member of the expidition is obligatory to have med-evac insurance with a coverage up to 100 000 euro (not included in the tour price).

Are flight tickets included in the tour?
Flights Krasnoyarsk – Khatanga – Krasnoyarsk and Khatanga – ice base Barneo – Khatanga are included in the tour price.
Helicopter flight (Mi-8) on the route Ice base Barneo – North Pole – Ice base Barneo are also included.
But flight tickets to Krasnoyarsk and back are not included in the tour price. You can book them individually or we can help you with it.

Who can participate in the expidition?
Participation in The North Pole Joy is not extremely difficult, if you do not have a serious disability. There are no any special requirements to potential members of the expedition.
If you are able to fly on the regular flights, it is most likely you can fly on the aircraft AN-74. AN-74 is a simple yet reliable and comfortable jet airplane, and MI-8 helicopter, though having a plain interior, meets all the safety requirements.
Barneo Ice Camp meets all the standards of the winter base-camp. It is equipped with heated tents for sleeping accommodation and large and comfortable mess-tent – our Polar Café.
Staying at the Barneo Ice Camp and the North Pole includes walks in the surrounding, exploration of the local ice summits (ice-hummocks of 1–2 m high), photographing etc.
