Step into the story of a hero city beyond the Arctic Circle. From wartime resilience to peaceful panoramas of the icy bay, this tour reveals the soul of Murmansk – where every monument whispers a memory, and the northern wind carries the echo of the past.
Breakfast at the hotel.
09:30 Meeting with the guide, departure for Murmansk City Tour.
09:45 Visit to the Lighthouse Monument. Memorial complex dedicated to sailors who died in peacetime.
10:15 Monument «Alyosha» – the tallest above the Arctic Circle. The memorial to the Defenders of the Soviet Arctic. You will gaze westward together with the figure of a warrior: toward the place where the Valley of Glory thundered with battle during the war years.
10:45 The «Waiting» Monument. You will see a sculpture that is equally cherished by both Murmansk residents and visitors to the city. This sculpture is a symbol of a woman's devotion, patiently waiting for her sailor to return from his voyage.
11:15 Monument to the Fortitude and Courage of Murmansk Citizens during WWII – «Stove Pipe».
Here, history comes alive: war songs, old photographs, and… stoves. These stoves are all that remained of wooden Murmansk after the bombings. You will feel the icy breath of war and the silent resilience of the city.
12:00 Next, you will head to the Murmansk Commercial Seaport, where the legendary nuclear-powered icebreaker «Lenin» – the world's first vessel of its kind – will appear before you.*
